Taking time to understand the organization
You can learn a lot about a consultant by what they ask before they start giving advice. This team took time to understand our people, how we work, and what matters to us. Even after the first conversation, I could see the value. Their recommendations made sense for the organization we actually are, with a foundation we could keep building on.
Having a plan for your growth
I appreciated having a coach who took time to understand the challenges I was facing at work and where I wanted my career to go. Our conversations helped me think differently and turn that thinking into goals I could actually work toward. The guidance felt personal, practical, and useful. I’d recommend that kind of support to anyone trying to grow as a leader.
Helping a nonprofit move forward
When you’re carrying a mission you care about, it’s easy to keep pushing without stopping to question how the work gets done. Working with this team helped us do that. They challenged our thinking, supported us through a new project, and helped us see where we could work more effectively. I appreciate people who put that kind of care into helping a nonprofit move forward.
Being challenged by someone who cares
Being inside a situation every day can make it hard to see clearly. Having a coach bring an outside perspective helped me make better decisions and work through solutions with my team. I appreciated being challenged by someone who also cared about how I was doing. I was able to put our conversations into practice, and the time we spent together helped me move toward both personal and professional goals.
Making the mission clear to donors
Doing good work and knowing how to explain its impact are both things a nonprofit has to figure out. This conversation helped me get clearer on our strategy and how we communicate with donors. The advice was practical, and the examples came from real experience with charities. I left with things I could actually use.
Finding clarity about what comes next
I started by listening to an interview, then the book, then finally having a conversation. I’m glad I kept going. Coaching helped me understand my strengths and the areas where I needed work. I had clear things to act on after our sessions and support when I needed it. That helped me make decisions about my career and what I wanted next. I’ve recommended it to people I care about.
Following through on the work
We needed help with our website and the materials we use to tell our story. This team listened, communicated well, and followed through. Our newsletters, flyers, and website all benefited from their work. As a charity, you appreciate people who care enough to put extra effort into what you’re trying to accomplish. We felt that here.
Helping your people grow with the company
If you want your company to grow, you’ve got to help your people grow with it. That’s why we brought in executive coaching. We started seeing the benefit fairly quickly, and the coach became someone we could turn to as we developed our leaders. The approach was encouraging and professional. It’s been a valuable part of preparing our executives for what comes next.
Having someone to turn to
We’ve been working together for about six months, and I’ve really appreciated having someone with this much knowledge who is willing to help. Running a charity and figuring out fundraising comes with plenty of questions. Having someone you can bring those questions to makes a difference. If you’re doing that work, I’d recommend having a conversation with them.
Moving beyond being stuck
I’d been working with my coach for over a year, and it changed how I thought about my role. I started seeing more ways to work across the organization and contribute to the bigger goals we were trying to reach. I also began moving toward career goals that had been sitting still. Having someone understand how I work and hold me accountable helped me keep moving.
Staying focused when everything needs you
There’s a lot coming at you when you’re trying to run a firm and take care of your clients. Working with this coach has helped me stay focused through all of it. The advice is clear enough to put into practice and grounded in what our business needs. I appreciate having someone help me sort through the noise so I can keep showing up for the people we serve.
Taking a closer look at your own thinking
Sometimes you need someone who can help you look at your own thinking from another angle. That’s what I found in coaching. Our conversations gave me room to question assumptions, work through problems, and think more clearly about opportunities. I got a lot out of that partnership, personally and professionally. I’d recommend it to someone who wants to become more effective in how they lead.
Getting clear and taking action
Sometimes moving your business forward starts with changing how you’re looking at it. This work helped me get clearer on our direction, use my time better, and take steps toward goals that had felt out of reach. The approach fit my business, and I left our conversations knowing what to work on. I’ve seen growth in the business and in my confidence leading it.
Recognizing what gets in your way
Over six sessions, I started understanding my leadership style and the thinking that was getting in my way. My coach was patient and gave me room to work through it. We found practical ways to handle situations differently, and I came away with a more positive outlook. I feel better prepared for the challenges that come with the role.
Getting help with the business side
I thought I could figure out the business side on my own while also doing the work I’d trained to do. That turned out to be harder than I expected. Coaching helped me focus our marketing, narrow down what needed my attention, and move toward my goals. Four months in, I could see a change in how I approached the business and the work coming in. The encouragement helped. So did the reality checks.
Giving your attention to what matters
It’s easy to spend your day doing things and still lose sight of what deserves your attention. Coaching helped me become more thoughtful about where I put my time and energy at work. I also had support when I needed to talk through difficult situations. The guidance was practical, and it helped me focus on the work where I could make the most difference.
Building a company people want to work for
My business partner and I knew how to do our work well. Running the company took skills we were still learning. Getting help gave us the systems to bring on an assistant and six more employees. It also helped us understand each other’s strengths and communicate better. We started making decisions more easily, and hearing good things from our employees and clients meant a lot.
Changing how you approach a problem
One of the most helpful parts of coaching was being asked to take a closer look at how I think and act. The sessions adapted to what I needed, with a mix of conversation and resources I could use. That helped me change my approach, stay more positive, and keep my attention on the outcome I was working toward.
Doing the work to move forward
Four months of coaching helped me get much clearer about my business. I worked on how I talk with different clients, raised my prices, and started putting the pieces in place for a fresh start. There was reading, preparation, and real work involved. Having someone help me see what was possible and guide me through the next steps made it feel doable. I wish I’d started sooner.
Finding where to start
I knew I needed help growing as a leader, but I couldn’t clearly name where to start. Coaching helped me find those areas and work on actions that fit my situation. I appreciated the calm approach, the accountability, and the flexibility when a conversation took us somewhere useful that we hadn’t expected. We made good use of the time, and I left with a clearer direction.
